While John McAfee was first known as a trailblazer in the anti-virus / anti-malware software industry, he has had a bit of a renaissance of sorts in the cryptocurrency realm.
Never one to mince his words, via his twitter account McAfee stated he sees a few “hard results” and expects Bitcoin to rocket over the next few years. In fact, McAfee says he will eat his own d**k on live TV if BTC does not hit $500,000 in the next three years.

Beyond the fact this is probably physically impossible, and the shear thought of this is a bit disconcerting, it certainly is a statement that captures the imagination. This is not the first time McAfee has made outlandish statements and his form of wisdom has become a cottage industry of sorts assuring his name will be a headliner at any conference he decides to attend.
Bitcoin has declined from its all time high towards the end of 2017 when it touched $20,000 (depending on the exchange). Today, it is trading at around $7400. But McAffee is not alone in predicting a rise in BTC in coming months as more institutional players come on line. With Goldman Sachs prepping a crypto trading desk it is pretty certain all other banks will follow along. Most crypto believers see Bitcoin rising towards the end of the year and into 2019. They are just not expressing this sentiment in the same flowery terms as McAfee.
