Cierzo Brewing Company Overfunding & Feeling Hoppy on Crowdcube Spain

Cierzo Brewing Co., the joint project of 4 artisanal beer companies in Aragon, has partnered with Crowdcube Spain to raise funds in oder to create grow its brand nationally in Spain and then internationally.  Funding will be used for the construction of a Cierzo’s second brewery, bar and restaurant which is planned in the center of Zaragoza.  As readers know, breweries are beloved by the crowdfunding community.  Earlier this summer Crowdfund Insider covered Wefunder’s Stewbum and Stonewall Unique Craft Beer campaign, Seven Stills Brewery and Distillery’s ICO and The Park Brewery on Crowdcube.  And the history of successful artisanal brew crowd raises cannot be denied — BrewDog, ChapelDown, Camden Town.

Cierzo Brewing Co. is currently experiencing similar success on Crowdcube Spain. At this writing, the Spanish brewery easily surpassed its initial 350,000€ objective, harvesting more than 410,000€ from over 230 investors for 48.12% equity. The largest investment to date was 22,000€.

Founded by a team of partners including Santiago Del Rey Rivas, David Laguarda Berges, Sergio Ruiz Beguería, Carlos Suárez Vázquez, Alberto Felipe Coloma, Antonio Ansón Gracia and Santiago Marco Carrasco, Cierzo Brewing Co. positions itself against other Spanish artisan breweries including Crowdcube Spain alum Garage Beer Co., Naparbier, Basqueland, La Quince and La Pirata. Unlike in the US where artisanal breweries have snagged more than 25% of the beer market, Spanish artisanal breweries are slowly gaining a foothold in the Spanish beer market. Cierzo hopes to lead the way. Watch out Estrella Damm!
