The Ethical Butcher, a UK-based company that supplies London’s restaurant and catering trade with ethically sourced meat, is now seeking £350,000 through its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube.
Founded in 2014, Ethical Butcher reported it has won a number of Great Taste Awards, which includes Top 50 Foods in UK & Ireland. The company noted that with 200 monthly orders from our restaurant clients with an average price of nearly £350 per invoice in 2017, over the past 2 years, it has earned a revenue of almost £1,400,000 with an operating profit of £98,000.
“We aim to add to existing revenue streams by providing high-quality meat, cut to order, to households across the country by next day delivery. Via our B2C offering, we intend to raise the bar so that consumers know that the meat they buy from us is from 100% grass-fed stock and prepared by artisan professional butchers.”
While sharing more details about the company, Founder and CEO of The Ethical Butcher, Farshad Kazemian, said:
“At the Ethical Butcher we’re disrupting the meat market as we know it, giving consumers a unique opportunity to make a positive difference to the planet through their food choices, and their early investment in our vision. The crowdfunding campaign will give us the kick start we need to become the number one supplier of ethical meat, so that our valued and respected industry can play its crucial part in combating the effects of climate change.”
The Ethical Butcher also revealed it already provides a wholesale service to London restaurants and plan to extend this B2B offering by supplying premium meat to gourmet burger bars. The company is on track to grow our supply into London’s iconic Smithfield Meat Market when it has the necessary stock in place. It later plans to add Himalayan Salt Dry Aged Beef to its range.
Funds from the Crowdcube round will be used to supply households across the UK, via home delivery, with quality meat from ethically raised certified PFLA 100% grass-fed stock. The campaign is set to close mid-December.
