I don’t know about you but I am already tired of reading/hearing/seeing/dreaming about COVID-19. Social distancing and shelter at home are necessary and vital – especially for cities like New York that has emerged as an epicenter for the virus. Eventually, we will move beyond the pandemic of 2020 but for now, we are stuck in the middle of it.
So for everyone sequestered in NYC getting cabin fever here are two startups that seem rather grand ideas right now.
First up we have Winc. A service that has wine delivered straight to your front door. Need I say more?
Winc is looking to raise up to $15 million under Reg A+ on SeedInvest. The Series D funding round requires a minimum participation of $999 per investor. Investors will be receiving preferred equity at a pre-money valuation of $110 million. As it stands today, Winc has raised about $4.6 million.
Winc reports over $200 million in lifetime revenue, 542k Customers, 13.8 million bottles sold. From inception to 2018, Winc’s revenue grew 195% (CAGR). Currently, the company has two channels: direct to consumer and a wholesale path (like Whole Foods). The company would like to purchase its own winery.
Now can Winc provide same-day delivery?
Mighty Quinn’s BBQ is a company that can provide same-day delivery and it is delivering now across Manhattan as well as Brooklyn while offering a 15% discount on delivered food.
Mighty Quinn is seeking up to $4 million in a Series B side by side Reg CF/Reg D funding round on SeedInvest. Investors will receive a convertible note at a $40 million valuation cap. As it stands today, $1.1 million has been invested in this fast-casual restaurant concept.
Mighty Quinn’s got its start serving brisket at an outdoor food market in Brooklyn. In 2012, Might Quinn’s opened a location in the East Village and has added additional locations since. According to the Offering Memorandum, the company has a 12 unit franchisee contracted development pipeline.
If you do decide to back this company, you may also get some BBQ thrown in with investor perks.
