SOLIVUS, a company that’s on a mission to power mega-buildings and homes with clean energy “generated on-site using new thin-film solar, overcoming weight and aesthetic challenges,” has acquired 306% (£1,531,428) of its £500,000 target from 1455 investors (at the time of writing) through its crowdfunding campaign via Crowdcube (with 18 days left in the sale).
Based in the United Kingdom, SOLIVUS offers 6.33% Equity, EIS. The company reports a £22,646,655 pre-money valuation and a £2.50 share price.
Solivus’s management explains that they will be focused on powering mega-buildings and homes with a supply of clean energy that will be produced on-site using new thin-film solar, thus helping to “overcome weight and aesthetic challenges.”
Solivus have a growing pre-order queue “for the patented Solivus Arc and have completed installations on commercial roofs.”
The company claims that it is revenue generating. The firm has also shared the following highlights:
- 2050 Net Zero UK climate commitments require an estimated £66bn of solar investment
- £2.6 million raised from crowdfunding and direct investors
- Patented and design right granted for Solivus Arc with a growing pre-order queue
As clarified in the update, £454k of funds on the progress bar “represent funds raised by the Company prior to launching the campaign.” The company has already “received these funds, and the Company has indicated up to £150k may be spent whilst the pitch is live.”
As noted in the announcement, the “completion of the Crowdcube raise will occur on the same material terms and share price.”
The company also mentioned that the Solivus Arc is “a patented groundmounted solar array providing an alternative to roof mounted solar.”
The firm also noted that they “provide an alternative to conventional solar, all powered by light-weight, thin-film solar panels.” The firm further revealed that they have “a light-weight fixing solution to fix thin-film solar to profiled roofs; such as the one on this sports stadium.”
They are reportedly “working on an install at Cotswold Airport.”
The firm added:
“The built environment contributes to 40% of global emissions but many large buildings cannot take the weight of conventional solar and many homeowners do not like the look of solar on the roof. Solivus aims to pioneer these two niche markets by providing businesses and homeowners with an alternative to conventional solar combining new lightweight thin-film solar with elegant design.”
They also noted:
“We have contracts to install our rooftop product in key target markets; warehouses, schools, stadiums & airports, including the stadium of a Premiership Rugby Club and a private airport.”
They added:
“For the home the Solivus Arc is a striking solar sculpture designed to maximize energy generation in a small space. It stands on the ground and is easy to move from home to home. The UK patent has been granted and applications filed internationally. There is now a growing pre-order queue.”
As mentioned in the update, the climate crisis has “become one of the most pressing issues for consumers and businesses.”
The UK needs to “treble solar capacity over the next 9 years to meet net-zero commitments,” the update noted while adding that businesses are now “converting their climate pledges into action and homeowners want to save money and go green.”
As mentioned in the update, the firm is “fundraising to expand the team to accelerate [their] rooftop business and fund the development for the mass market launch of the Solivus Arc in 2022.”
