Alty Teams Up with FIO Protocol to Enhance Crypto Accessibility

The Foundation for Interwallet Operability (FIO) has announced that cross-platform AI chatbot Alty has integrated the FIO Protocol.

With this partnership, Alty’s 4.2 million+ users can “send, receive, and request any type of cryptocurrency using FIO Protocol-enabled functionality.”

The FIO Protocol is “an open-source, decentralized usability solution that works across all blockchains.” It uses human-readable crypto handles (e.g., hello@alty) “to replace the complexity, risk, and inconvenience of transacting using long-string public wallet addresses.”

Partnering with the FIO Protocol will make it easy for Alty users “to send, receive, and request digital currency to and from their Alty wallets.”

Alty users will be able “to create their own customized FIO Crypto Handles on the @Alty domain (e.g., user@alty).” This integration is “the latest step in Alty’s mission to make crypto more accessible by providing a single access point to user-friendly and interoperable crypto tools.”

Luke Stokes, MD, Foundation for Interwallet Operability, noted:

“The ability to send messages instantly for free has transformed how we communicate with each other. Sending digital currencies to trusted parties should be no more complicated or stressful than sending an e-mail, which is now possible with the FIO Protocol. We look forward to demonstrating just how simple cryptocurrency adoption can be via our partnership with Alty.”

Patrick Moufarrige, Product Owner at Alty, added:

“FIO has simplified blockchain transactions since its inception, a mission that matches Alty’s goal to make crypto more social. Everyone uses messaging apps regularly, so we are dedicated to integrating resources that make social crypto more accessible within these platforms. This partnership allows users to create free FIO handles through chat and even remap incoming transactions to any wallet anywhere, a major step forward.”

Alty joins over 40 major wallets, exchanges and crypto payment processors that have “integrated FIO Protocol features into their products.”

FIO and Alty have teamed up for a three-part giveaway “awarding 100,000 in $FIO token prizes, the prize pool distributions for each phase are: FIO Crypto Handle Registration – $45,000 in FIO tokens, FIO Request – $45,000 in FIO tokens and $10,000 in FIO tokens to be distributed during the AMA.”

As noted in an update shared with CI, FIO, the Foundation for Interwallet Operability, is “a decentralized consortium of blockchain organizations and community members supporting the ongoing development, integration, and promotion of the FIO Protocol.”

The protocol is “an open-source, decentralized usability layer solution that works across all blockchains, and uses human-readable Crypto Handles to replace the complexity, risk, and inconvenience that comes with blockchain-based transactions using public addresses.”

As mentioned in the announcement, Alty is “an all-in-one platform powering the world’s best crypto communities.”

Available as a user-friendly chatbot and community management web portal, Alty helps crypto communities seamlessly “scale their groups through easy onboarding and management, exclusive crypto/DeFi offerings, and more.”
