Kickstarter will be presenting their 3rd Annual Kickstarter Film Fest in Brooklyn next month. Scheduled for Saturday, August 3rd starting at 7PM and running until Mid-night or so. The event is free for the public and will include a selection of some of their favorite films funded on Kickstarter.
The screening will include features as well as documentaries, shorts and animations.
Film and video is one of Kickstarter’s most successful crowdfunding categories having successfully raised almost $127 Million on their platform since launch. This category is just after their top crowdfunding category which is currently games.
Kickstarter had three crowdfunded films in the Oscars this past February with one film, Innocente, winning the Oscar for Best Documentary Short.
The screening takes place in a Brooklyn lot at S. 3rd St between Kent and Wythe. There will be “decent beer. Good food that’s not that expensive actually”.
