Last week, Washington, D.C. – based clothing company, Hugh & Crye, launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to raise $30,000 for its new fashion apparel, the fitted t-shirt. Within six days, the project has reached nearly $37,000 from 675 backers. The fabric has attracted a lot of attention due to its uniquely designed to fit lean and athletically built men, making it the ultimate t-shirt to wear in public.

Hugh & Crye 3According to its crowdfunding website, Hugh & Crye t-shirts are known to fit, look and feel better than anything else in the closet. On top of being comfortable, the t-shirts are fairly priced, $20 dollars with shipping included, and made in the U.S.

Ways that a person can find their Hugh & Crye t-shirt fit are based on height and built. They have created a new sizing approach for men’s shirts. Hugh & Crye’s team noted, “Our sizes are based on real people, not industry patterns. We measured thousands of guys and came up with 12 unique sizes based on body types and height.”

Features of the t-shirts are the following:

  • Ribbed neck holds its shape over time
  • It has a classic crew t-shirt shape that is cut just right
  • 100% combed cotton: breathable, soft and comfortable
  • Raised armhold aids movement and creates a more flattering look
  • Special garmet-dyed wash for color softness and worn-in feel
  • Tailored, flattering cut through the body
  • Perfect length to wear untucked.

These t-shirts come in various colors, including heraldic blue, even gray, berry, matte black, mallow, and azure blue.

Hugh & Crye 4Not only do they stay in perfect condition, the Hugh & Crye t-shirts are made by breathable 100% combed cotton. This kind of fabric is a soft version of cotton that undergoes a special brushing treatment before its spun into yarn. The company describes this as being the “Cadillac of cotton.”

Sharing details of where the campaign’s funds will go, Hugh & Crye’s team stated, “We’ve already invested in the research and development of these t-shirts, and have completed a test production run. The money you pledge will go directly toward covering the cost of manufacturing these t-shirts. That includes raw materials, cut/make/trim/dye process, shipping and packaging. If we’re able to stretch our funding goal, we’ll also be able to introduce new colors and designs, while deepening our relationship with our manufacturer.”

Set to close on September 4th, Hugh & Crye’s crowdfunding
