Yesterday Crowdfund Insider announced that Symbid has partnered with Ben & Jerry’s Join Our Core 2015 competition. Now several UK crowdfunding platforms have revealed a similar partnership in the hunt for the “brightest social entrepreneurs in Europe”. As noted on the Join Our Core page; Seedrs, Crowdcube and Crowdfunder.uk are all participating in the event.
Ben & Jerry’s, of the ice cream fame, are offering to train five entrepreneurs from each country in Europe to run crowdfunding campaigns. The competition will pick up to two winners and top-up their crowdfunding campaign with 20% of their target (up to a value of €10,000). Mentoring from Ben & Jerry’s owners Unilever is included.
Ben & Jerry’s is looking to see a product, social and economic mission that matches their mission. Criteria to be accepted includes;
- innovation
- social or environment impact
- financial sustainability
Applicants must be committed to running a crowdfunding campaign to raise at least €20,000 launching in mid-May (ideally 18th) for 4-8 weeks.
