SALLON Mobile App Seeks £111,000 on Funding Tree to Become the Uber For Salon Customers

Ready to bring a new service to smartphones, UK-based SALLON launched a crowdfunding campaign on Funding Tree for its new salon booking and networking mobile app.

Sallon 4.jpgAccording to its description, SALLON app works on the same principles as transportation booking app, Uber. This new network is perfect for city dwellers who could get caught short on their beauty arrangements if an event were to suddenly arise.

Users of SALLON simply enters their search terms and SALLON will use the current location to generate lists of close-by salons with offers, ratings, features, treatments and facilities – with appointments available immediately.

Sharing details about the new app, the SALLON team stated:

Sallon 2“SALLON’s revenue streams include charging salon owners a fixed monthly fee and in-app advertising. Having already raised £20,000 seed investment to bring the company to market, mySallon.com Ltd is raising £111,000 for 8% equity in the business to move the app from a fully comprehensive technical spec – detailing all features and functionality for version one and version two of the app and video-based prototype – to completion and launch.”

Funds from the campaign will go towards the following:

  • Software architecture
  • User Interface design
  • Testing & QA procedure
  • The app store submission processes
  • Hosting and server suppliers
  • Ongoing support, maintenance and management agreements
  • Agreed formats and platform for which mobile operating systems
  • Identification and appointment of target audience alpha, beta and gold master testing group

Revealing why potential investors should put funds towards the project, the team added:

Sallon 3“Consumer waiting times for certain services are decreasing thanks to technology that connects consumers with services/venues at the touch of a button. Uber, Top Table, Airbnb and numerous other platforms are helping to drive the ‘on-demand economy’ – a trend for services that are almost instantly available.

“Falling into this emerging trend is SALLON, which uses a special algorithm to scan various booking systems, and present them onto a consumer’s smartphone.

Sallon 5“SALLON will launch a robust and fully dependable system for both consumer and client within eight weeks of receiving finances. Following on from this, the company will look to add more features and functionality with the release of version 2 & 3 in quick succession. Version 3 will be live and in use before the end of the first year of operation.

“Special features include a multitude of in-app experiences such as a social networking element for social interaction and messaging. Consumers see a unique and personalised feed from a mixture of generated content.”

All together, £333,000 through a combination of angel investment and its crowdfunding campaign.
