Tesco Launches Crowdfunding Platform “BackIt” For Food & Drink Projects

Tesco, a British multinational grocery, and general merchandise retailer, has recently announced the launch of its new crowdfunding platform, Tesco BackIt. The funding portal is dedicated to small businesses that are in the food and drink industry.

Sharing details about the Tesco BackIt, the company stated:

backit-3“Tesco BackIt gives small food and drink businesses the chance to tell their story, show off their products and campaign for funding to help them grow. You can discover and back products you like, choosing from a range of rewards as a thank you for your support. Plus you’ll get that warm, fuzzy feeling you get when you make a difference. We’ll do our bit too by helping the small business with advice and mentoring from industry experts. So have a browse of the campaigns, and if you like it – BackIt.”

Tesco BackIt currently has six crowdfunding campaign on its platform, which is dedicated to the following:

  • Drunken Berries: An award winning alcoholic Prosecco Mixer brand which can also be drizzled on desserts and frozen into a sorbet. The company is seeking £2,000 for a new e-commerce website and social media advertising campaign.
  • backit-2Tg Green Tea: a new British brand that offers ready-to-drink tea. The company is looking to raise £10,000 to purchase a van for deliveries, build sales support, and make lots of drinks.

  • B-Tempted: A little gluten free bakery in inspiring and bustling East London. The company is seeking £5,000 for expansion of its bakery.

  • Rejuvenation Water: An Amino Acid enriched spring water, specifically designed to deal with the rigors of modern life. The £15,000 that the company is looking to raise will go towards the development of its Amino Acid concept into a zero calorie, zero sugar lifestyle drink.

  • backit-1Sibling Distillery: A distillery that distils gin from start to finish. The company is seeking £30,000 for its new location.

  • Nanaimo Bars: Canadian sweet treats in a range of mouth-watering flavors. The company is looking to raise £10,000 as it prepares to launch in shops around the UK.

Each campaign is running for the next 45 days.
