Finnish Fashion Brand Marita Huurinainen Closes In On €100,000 Funding Goal on Invesdor

Marita Huurinainen, a Finnish fashion brand, has successfully secured close to €90,000 out of its €100,000 funding goal on Invesdor. The company launched the initiative last month and is heading into the final week on the equity crowdfunding platform.

Marita Huurinainen 1As previously reported, Marita Huurinainen is a fashion and lifestyle brand that offers ready-to-wear clothing, accessories, and shoes. The company revealed that in 2013, the company’s namesake, Marita Huurinainen, met with Andreas Jank to introduce the WILD furs and WAVE shoe concepts. Andreas was notably immediately convinced about Huurinaine’s products and the duo established the brand later that year. Since then, the company’s products have developed, becoming highly successful internationally. It currently has customers across Europe, the U.S. and Asia.

“Marita Huurinainen’s WILD Concept is a new approach to enjoying fur. This fur accessories collection consists of beautiful, elegant and light fur items. What makes WILD unique is that it offers an ethical and responsible way of wearing fur as it is not using fur of any farmed animals. WILD allows you to enjoy fur with a good conscience. WAVE is a beautiful, elegant, light and comfortable summer shoe with a truly revolutionary and unique design that has been developed by Marita Huurinainen.”

Marita Huurinainen 3The company raised €171,597 from 106 investors during its run on FundedByMe last year. Sharing his thoughts about using the funding method, Jank stated:

“It is a very positive development that individual investors now have the chance to invest in start-up companies directly. Previously this was only possible for institutional investors, who charge high management fees to their investors. In my opinion crowdfunding brings efficiency, transparency and equality into the market.”

He went on to note:

Marita Huurinainen 2“The easier the product or service is to understand, the more suitable the company is for crowdfunding. I recommend companies that are B2C to consider crowdfunding because they get a lot marketing from a public funding round. I have had only positive experiences so far. Many crowdfunding investors have become our customers and they actively support our business, while others are quite passive. At no point have I felt that having many investors is a burden. It is rather the opposite. We have many brand ambassadors.”

Marita Huurinainen’s Invesdor initiative is set to close next Tuesday.
