Peer to peer lender Assetz Capital has reported that investors have now earned £15 million in gross interest since platform launch in 2013. The P2P lender has focused on provide access to capital for UK SMEs while give investors a viable investment alternative. Assetz Capital said “investors are reaping the benefits of P2P lending as more turn away from traditional banking methods”.To date, Assetz Capital said approximately £180 million has been invested through the platform. Interest rates paid to investors have ranged from 3.75% – 15% annually. Assetz Capital is a secured lender where the borrower must provide tangible assets to qualify for a loan thus lowering investor risk. Assetz Capital says it has one of the lowest loan default and loss rates in the market. Over 15,000 investors have used the platform to date.
“2016 has been an incredibly successful year for Assetz Capital as more and more people are realising the benefits of investing through peer-to-peer platforms. £15 million total gross interest earned by investors is a big milestone for the business, and things are progressing so quickly that we expect to see this total double by the end of 2017,” said Stuart Law, CEO of Assetz Capital. “In the aftermath of the Brexit decision and amidst plummeting savings rates we have seen a significant rise in people turning to P2P lending to potentially grow their capital through BrexitProof investments.”
