Fantasy football social gaming website and app, Premier Punt, has completed its equity crowdfunding round on Seedrs. The website successfully secured its initial £200,000 funding target and finished the round with nearly £225,000.
Premier Punt was founded in 2013 and describes itself as a Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) operator based in Edinburgh that provides fantasy football enthusiasts with a platform to come together and play daily fantasy football games against one another for real cash. Picking a team is simple:
“Just like any other fantasy football game you choose your team from the pool of players. For the weekly and daily games you choose 11 players from all the teams that are playing that week or day. Each player is awarded points based on their performance. There are a few rules; the team value must not exceed £100 Million, no more than 3 players from any one club and most importantly no shoes on the couch! For the single games you choose 5 players from any of the fixtures. Each player is awarded points based on their performance. There are no player valuations so let your hair down and try to pick the 5 best players!”
Premier Punt released its app in August 2016. It offers what the company calls a brand new way to playing fantasy football and engaging fans. The company noted:
“We were the no.1 searched app in the UK App Store a number of times, generating over 16,500 downloads! Our fan engagement strategy is what differentiates us from the competition! We have an Official Partnership with Premier League club Southampton FC that gives us huge worldwide exposure.”
Premier Punt is planning to use funds from the Seedrs campaign to expand and grow its platform along with the app.
