VPAR, a UK-based golf technology platform, has launched an equity crowdfunding platform on Seedrs to raise £1 million as it prepares to expand.
The company, which was founded in 2007, is seeking to change the golf experience for amateur golf players through its technology platform. VPAR claimed its first product was a live-scoring service that gave amateur golfers the ability to check their standings on a live leaderboard on the course, in clubhouses, and online. VPAR revealed:
“Running thousands of tournaments across 22 countries, we supply Live Scoring to some of the most recognized brands and world renowned golf courses. These events expose our brand to thousands of golfers every year and lay the foundations for the growth of our app. We now have 200,000 app users, growing at more than 4,000 a week during the golf season.”
Noting how golfers can see their progress on the platform, VPAR’s team explained:
“Using unique handheld scorepads, players can track their progress through live leaderboards, enabling them to check out the competition, plan their strategy and see what’s happening elsewhere on the course, as the game unfolds.”
The platform also hosts more than 750 events each year ranging from Corporate Golf Days, Golf Outings, Charity Golf Days, Club Championships, Amateur, and Pro Am Tournaments. It was also explained:
“Spectators can even browse the scores live online, as well as viewing information and statistics before, during and after the event. Engaging an online audience creates further exposure, extending the reach of the event and adding value to sponsors.”
Since its launch, the campaign has successfully secured nearly £775,000. It is set to close later this spring.
