BrewDog Launches Indiegogo Campaign For Doghouse Craft Beer Hotel & Sour Beer Facility in Columbus

A little over a week after opening its taphouse in the Columbus, Ohio area, UK-based brewery BrewDog has launched a reward-based crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to raise a minimum of $75,000 for its Doghouse Craft Beer Hotel and Sour Beer Facility.

The brewing company has raised over $30 million in its ongoing crowdfunding offers in the UK, called Equity For Punks. Its USA equity crowdfunding pitch, Equity For Punks USA, has been live for several months on BankRoll and is seeking a raise of up to $50 million under Reg A+. BrewDog also raised £10 million from 2699 investors through its Crowdcube mini bond in December 2016.

BrewDog claims that the Doghouse is the first crowdfunded craft beer hotel that will be attached to a brand new sour beer facility. Both will be located on its new U.S. site. Doghouse features include beer themed rooms, punk jacuzzi, shower beer fridges, a spa that will have malted barley massages and hop face masks. Explaining the purpose of the hotel, BrewDog shared:

We want to create the top craft beer destination on the planet. Our brewery in Ellon, Scotland has become a destination for craft beer fans across Europe, and we want to build an even more amazing beer destination stateside. With The DogHouse focused on amazing craft beer from BrewDog and our favourite breweries worldwide, we’re creating the ideal environment in which to immerse yourself in the ultimate beery weekend.”

Also revealing details about the sour beer facility, BrewDog noted:

Sour brewing provides the opportunity to experiment and innovate with the weirdest, most wonderful styles of beer the world has to offer. By building a dedicated sour beer facility on site at our brewery in Columbus, Ohio, we’re setting ourselves up to start building some insane recipes without impacting on our day-to-day brewing.”

BrewDog stated that Doghouse and the Sour Beer Facility will cost $6 million to build and furnish. The proceeds from the Indiegogo campaign will enable the brewery to fast-track the project. The hotel is scheduled to be fully operational by third quarter 2018. Those that back the project will receive various rewards, which are listed below.

The campaign is set to close in April.
