With two weeks until it equity crowdfunding campaign is set to close on Crowdcube, London-based luxury kids fashion brand Benedita has successfully secured its initial £125,000 funding target thanks to nearly 100 investors. The company’s description reads:

Benedita is shaping the fast growing trend for timeless and classic children’s wear by bringing together a variety of artists, business women and designers that share the same values, vision and care. Based in London, in 18 months we have grown our presence over 20 retail shops in 6 countries. We are challenging the children’s wear industry to commit and embrace a more sustainable and ethical approach to fashion fostering families to buy less clothes of better quality, reach untapped designer talent and produce in Portugal both as testament of our quality and as a mean to support local communities.”

Since its launch, Benedita has achieved the following:

  •  Exhibiting at some of the top trade fashion shows: Bubble London, ENK Childrens‘ Club NY and Playtime Tokyo
  • Growing reputation including high-profile editorials and product placements on Vogue, Tatler, The Telegraph and Earnshaw’s magazine.

The company also revealed:

We believe in embracing a more sustainable and ethical approach in childrenswear and encourage parents to buy fewer but higher quality clothes for their children. We also aim to leverage technology to reduce waste and have produced all of our goods in Portugal both as a testament to our quality and as a mean to support traditional skills.

Catarina Pinto Castro, founder and managing director, also announced that Benedita has officially secured an order with its very first luxury department. Although it’s not in the UK, Pinto Castro noted it was pretty awesome.
