Hybrid Vigor stirred the imaginations of film-lovers and crowdfunders the world over in the summer of 2012 with a Kickstarter campaign for the ages and a nod as Indiewire’s Project Of The Week.
Filming is underway and on schedule. The Impaler Speaks has featured two previous interviews with creator Brandon Fowler, which you can read here andhere. Recently, Brandon and I chatted again to catch everyone up on the latest goings-on in the world of Hybrid Vigor. Interview by Timothy ‘The Impaler’ Schwader.
The Impaler: Crowdfunding can be an intense and exhausting experience. Anything you’d do differently next time – lessons learned?
Hybrid Vigor: Next time I hope to have some backup. I had to manage the whole campaign myself and barely slept the entire month. Without all the support on Twitter from people like yourself the campaign would never have worked. So many of you helped promote us with tweets and retweets that we ended up trending on Twitter three times. It was amazing.
I also needed someone to help post-campaign. I should have done a better job communicating with backers after the campaign. I was just too buried in prepping and shooting the film. We are on a short production hiatus now, so I can catch up.
