FINRA To Discuss Crowdfunding Portal Rules on July 11th

The FINRA Board of Governors has scheduled a meeting on July 11th – one day after the SEC meeting to review portions of the jobs act, specifically regulation pertaining to Regulation D or private placements.

The FINRA board will review a proposal to solicit comment via Regulatory Notice on proposed rules and related forms governing funding portals pursuant to Title III of the JOBS Act – which specifically relates to crowdfunding.

The meeting is not only to review crowdunding, but is a part of a longer list of issues which FINRA needs to address.  As described on the FINRA site:

Funding Portal Rules
The Board will consider a proposal to solicit comment via Regulatory Notice on proposed rules and related forms governing funding portals pursuant to Title III of the JOBS Act.

Following the meeting, FINRA will notify firms via email regarding the Boards actions and next steps.
