Accolade Security Network is a Virginia-based security services provider. ASN provides both armed and unarmed security for residential security, nightlife and government detail.
ASN recently took to RocketHub in an effort to fund an effort they’re calling The Warfighter Initiative. The campaign is seeking $25,000 in funding in order to continue ASN’s mission of hiring and training former armed services personnel for their budding enterprise.
It costs approximately $600 to train one veteran to become an armed security officer or private investigator and $1800 for each executive protection specialist. Over the course of 3 years, The Warfighter Initiative has paid for the training of over 40 veterans of Afghanistan & Iraq.
ASN wants to actively seek out veterans and offer an opportunity to earn a living wage while performing duties that dovetail with their experiences overseas and at home.
President Rich Brown says that currently the company can only commit to training one or two veterans at a time. Brown says that a successful RocketHub campaign will help the company to expand its efforts to ensure 80% of its workforce is made up of former combat veterans.
The campaign is well short of the goal, having raised $1,780 at the time of writing. However, it could pick up steam quickly if backers decide to participate at the $600 pledge level. That amount would go to train one veteran.
