The San Francisco 49ers are one of the best teams in the NFL again this year. There’s just one problem: there is one team in their division that may be better.
This year’s Seattle Seahawks are something special. A chart recently published on Business Insider underscores this fact. They’re beating teams by wide margins, especially over the last 5 games.
In short, these two teams are on a collision course this year. Apparently so are their fans.
A group of Seahawks fans flew a banner around the 49er’s home field at Candlestick Park. Now a group of 49ers fans are using crowdfunding to fight back. They’ve launched a campaign on GoFundMe to crowdfund a billboard to be placed in Seattle.
This group has been created to raise funds to place a billboard in Seattle. The location will be voted on. Seahawk fans raised 2k, let’s show them we can raise a lot more. We have contacted companies in Seattle with multiple billboard ad locations. We are looking to raise about 7-8k to keep our ad there for at least 1 month, all during December and some of January for their playoff games.
The campaign has met a $7,000 goal and money continues to come in. Thus far they’ve raised over $10,000 with the promise that additional funds over what is needed for the billboard will be donated to the Seattle Children’s Hospital.
