Crowdfunding site Techbridge Enables Nonprofits to Raise Money for Tech Projects

TechBridgeTechBridge has announced the launch of the TechBridge Nonprofit Exchange, the first crowdfunding website that enables nonprofits to raise funds for technology projects that will increase their capacity to serve their respective communities.

“Nonprofits recognize the role of technology in increasing their capacity to serve. Eighty-three percent of nonprofits surveyed in a 2010 Johns Hopkins University study experienced increased efficiencies after incorporating technology into program and service delivery,” said TechBridge CEO James Franklin. “But funding remains the primary challenge to technology adoption. The TechBridge Nonprofit Exchange seeks to bridge that gap,” he added.

The TechBridge Nonprofit Exchange offers a new way to fundraise for technology projects by enabling nonprofits to harness the power of crowdfunding. By promoting the campaign, a nonprofit has the opportunity to engage with existing donors and corporate sponsors, and connect with new ones around a defined project. Completed projects yield definitive and measurable impact that is transparent to funders and corporate sponsors. TechBridge supplements nonprofits’ campaign marketing efforts by offering marketing guidance and resources comprised of timelines, tools and templates.

Funders are guaranteed that projects described in any campaign on the website are appropriately defined and accurately budgeted. TechBridge, with more than a decade of experience in this area, will conduct due diligence on all campaigns and corresponding projects before they are posted on the website. Funders’ credit cards are charged only when a campaign reaches its goal. Additionally, the implementation of all funded projects is managed by TechBridge to ensure that they are completed within the defined budget. Corporate sponsors enjoy the additional benefit of the community goodwill generated by their participation.

“TechBridge has provided the tools, resources, funding and connections nonprofits need to better use technology to further their mission since 2000,” continued Franklin. “The TechBridge Nonprofit Exchange will allow us to increase efficiencies in delivering services to nonprofits regardless of where they are in the technology adoption continuum and enable us to drive greater impact in the community,” he added.

”We are excited to be among the first to launch a campaign on the TechBridge Nonprofit Exchange,” said Dennis J. Gardin, executive director of the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation. “We are crowdfunding for an updated IT infrastructure that will allow us to better communicate with the people we serve, maximize uptime for our staff, reduce maintenance costs and ultimately allow us to focus on helping burn survivors across the state of Georgia,” he added.
