GOkey, the multi-purpose electronic keychain accessary has reached the midpoint of its campaign on crowdfunding platform Indiegogo and has currently raised over 1,100% of its $40,000 funding goal. Now, in order to incentivize backers for their ongoing support, they have instituted a series of campaign funding stretch goals.
Once GOkey’s campaign reaches its new stretch goals, all backers will receive an app that tracks the last GPS location of their GOkey at no extra cost and every Gokey’s USB will be upgraded to USB 3.0, making transfer speeds five times faster. Initially launching its campaign in order to secure manufacturing and shopping costs, GOkey surpassed its funding goal in less than one week and has continued to see tremendous support from its backers.
The primary function of GOkey is to act as a portable battery charger for mobile devices, providing up to two hours of backup charge for most mobile devices. Users can choose either a Lightning cable to charge the iPhone 5/5C/5S or a Micro-USB cable to charge Android or Windows devices. Small and discreet enough to fit on a keychain, GOkey was created to provide users with an emergency mobile battery charger that isn’t an inconvenience to carry around while on the go.
Founder of GOkey Doros Kyriakoulis stated, “We’re becoming more dependent on technology each and every day. Because of that independence, we’re completely stuck when the batteries go out. GOkey is still available for pre-order on Indiegogo. Depending on the memory size customers choose, GOkey ranges from $49 to $69 on the crowdfunding platform and users even have the chance to refer friends for discounts.
With 37 days left, GOkey’s campaign has received $440,147 from 5,758 backers.
