In its 2014 summary, WiSEED shared its growth: 37,700 members, 51 startups funded and € 14 million in funds raised (a 100% increase from 2013). Integral to its own growth and French crowdfunding became WiSEED’s involvement with financial regulations in October 2014: “After months of discussions with the French Government, regulators and stakeholders in the financial sector, France is adopting a single regulation system and wants to foreshadow the future European law which is expected by the end of 2016, at the earliest. WiSEED, who forced the proposal the first time, actively participated in the drafting of this legislation. This law defines the status of participatory Investment Advisor (CIP ) and allows the emergence of participatory finance in France.”
Looking into this new year, WiSeed 2015 offers monthly meetings, “beautiful” startups such as Ecrins Therapeutics and Caviar de Neuvic, real estate projects and SCOP finance, including the Toulouse-Blagnac Airport as well as new team member, Nicolas Hulot, the founder and president of the Fondation Nicolas-Hulot, an environmental group created in 1990.
