Brief: Indiegogo’s Slava Rubin Discusses The Best & Craziest Crowdfunding Campaigns With Fortune (Video)

Taking time away from his duties at crowdfunding giant, Indiegogo, CEO and co-founder of the platform, Slava Rubin sat down with Fortune magazine last week to weigh in on some of the best and strangely unique crowdfunding campaigns he has seen.

Slava RubinDuring his interview, Rubin shared,”Well, [the quirkiest I’ve seen was] there’s a gun on Indiegogo which shoots salt to kill flies called BugASalt. Their first campaign raised nearly half a million dollars. Right now we have an electric bike called the Sondors Bike, which is at the lowest price point that anybody has ever seen for an electric bike, $600.

“Just a couple of weeks ago as part of Indiegogo Life Launch, we actually had this famous blogger in New York called HONY is the blog, the Humans of New York try to raise just $30,000 to send [a] class from inner city Brooklyn to be able to send them to Harvard to inspire them what it means to go to college. They were able to raise almost a million and a half dollars. I mean wild.”
