The European Crowdfunding Network (ECN) has scheduled a new event title “CrowdCamp” which will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, this June. Formed in 20122, the ECN is a pan-European, non-profit, representative organization that has led the charge to change finance across the continent.
The new conference is described as an opportunity to learn about crowdfunding as a finance tool to help fund innovative businesses. The CrowdCamp event is also an opportunity to meet the incoming board of directors of the ECN.
The inaugural event is expected to host about 250 delegates from European
crowdfunding platforms, start-ups and SMEs, early stage investors and government officials. Topics of discussion, from more than 30 speakers, will include best practices in the crowdfunding space plus an update on the evolving alternative finance space in Europe. Organizers state that despite incredible growth around the globe, crowdfunding is still unknown to many investors and entrepreneurs.
“With the ECN CrowdCamp we want to offer an opportunity to innovative businesses and projects, as well as investors in Europe to understand this new source of finance and how to use it best. We want to show that crowdfunding can help innovations find their way to the market, sometimes even where other sources of finance fail to”, stated Oliver Gajda, ECN Chairman.
The gathering will take place in Lisbon on June 26th.
