Never afraid to hit the good (and mostly bad) spotlight, former Celebrity Big Brother contestant and reality star, Tila Tequila, has launched a GoFundMe campaign so that fans can help her buy a new house and furniture.
Tequila (using her given name Nguyen) wrote:
“The reason why I am creating this GoFundMe campaign is because they have raised the rent at my old home to $4,500 a month, and being a single mother without any support from the father, it can sometimes be very tough taking care of 2 people with only a 1 person income.
“So right now I need to raise some money so that I can move into my new home and get it furnished for my daughter and I. The last apt I was at came fully furnished and that’s why it was so expensive, but I’d rather save money for my daughter than keep wasting money each month like that. So I basically need to buy all the furniture and beddings from scratch to start over if we are to move. It is going to cost a lot to start off, and that is why I am asking you all for your help!”
She then explained:
“I have zero pride or ego when it comes to taking care of my daughter because this is what real good mother’s do. We sacrifice for our children and would take care of them by any means possible. Even if that means being a celebrity, and creating a GoFundMe campaign to get hep from my fans. Most people would be so ashamed or embarrassed, but I’m not. This is for my daughter so we won’t be homeless and she won’t starve. It’s not easy raising a child alone, but I am doing the best that I can to give her the world, and beyond! Thank you so much for listening, and thank you so much for your help! As soon as we hit this goal I will give everyone a live tour of our new home and the beautiful furniture and beddings! May the Lord bless you beautiful people!”
Surprisingly, within its first week, the campaign has successfully surpassed its initial $2,500 goal and is sitting at over $5,000.Sharing her appreciation, Nguyen stated:
“Oh my God! I cannot believe we actually not only reached our goal, but have actually gone PAST it! This is truly a humbling experience, and has definitely restored my faith in humanity! There was so much hatred thrown at me, especially on here, for trying to find ways to help my daughter and I.
“I was about to lose hope and faith in humanity again after reading some of the horrid comments, but I felt in my heart that GOD led me here, and to believe that LOVE CONQUERS ALL! And that it has! I was crying so many tears of happiness when I found out we actually hit our goal! Thank you from THE BOTTOM OF MINE AND IZZY’S HEART FOR ALL OF YOUR LOVE, HELP, COMPASSION, AND SUPPORT! Know that I will never forget you during our time of need, and once I am able to give more back you have my WORD that I SHALL! I believe in giving and paying things forward, and I am so blessed right now!”
She added:
“I will give everyone who donated to our cause a personal phone call, as I promised, as soon as I return from filming in Las Vegas so that I have more time to sit down, and give each person a call as that is hard to do while I am traveling, and at work. I will be returning the 1st week of FEBRUARY, and on top of that we FINALLY can move into our beautiful, new home, and get it all furnished THANKS TO SOME OF YOU! So after we get all nice and settled I will give you a call!

Immediately following the launch of the campaign, Nguyen dealt with some criticism and handled it in not-so-humbling matter. She took to her Twitter page yesterday and wrote:
People should give me money cuz i f*cking asked! Stop asking dumb questions and just do as I say! Damn u humans always gotta be complicated!
