Global investment crowdfunding platform OurCrowd is hosting its second annual Global Investor Summit this week in Jerusalem and organizers state this will be far bigger than year prior. According to OurCrowd, approximately 3,000 investors, entrepreneurs and corporate partners will join to participate in the conference with a theme of “investing in the future”.
Speakers include corporate representatives from Honda, Coca-Cola, Samsung Venturers, Philips, Intuit, GE-Digital and more, representing a broad-based coalition of companies focused on innovation and opportunity. OurCrowd CEO and founder Jon Medved stated;
“While most eyes are on stock market retreats on Wall Street and global markets, we are proud that we are hosting in Jerusalem a glimpse of a much brighter investor future. Israel’s technology sector is setting new records and continues to boom. We are delighted that we have so many investors joining us to build the next generation of Israeli tech giants.”
At the end of the gathering, OurCrowd will host a startup competition said to be Israel’s largest ever. Hundreds of investors will work to support dozens of OurCrowd portfolio companies. The winner of the competition will receive a $500,000 investment from OurCrowd and a 200K NIS prize to be awarded by Bank Hapoalim’s Chairman Yair Sarousi.
