Having surpassed its initial Indiegogo campaign by over $831K, Flux electric bikes has flexed its crowdfunding muscle in partnership . With 24 days remaining on their extended campaign, over 1,241 backers have invested over $881,765 to easily surpass the electric bike’s initial campaign goal of $50,000 and their stretch goals.
“We’re having so much fun running this campaign with you that we want to keep it going so we can introduce more special perks. We’re working closely with IndieGoGo and just got the go ahead to extend the campaign for 30 days!” wrote Pete Leaviss, Rob Rast & Team FLUX on their Indiegogo updates. “UPCOMING $1M GOAL: TBD. This is a major milestone! And we want your help in creating something special. Let us know your ideas in the campaign comments.”
Founders Leaviss and Rast shared backgrounds in engineering have enabled them to tackle their green technology for this successful eBike project. After testing seven “fully functioning” prototypes during the last year, the team is now making final tweaks to designs, finalizing quality control systems and developing accessories.
Flux is powered by the same batteries as the Tesla Model S; its mid motor (in the crankshaft) promises a smooth, powerful ride. The three bike models featured in this campaign — the Roadster, Trail and Attack — can be shipped worldwide. The Roadster targets the chic commuter with its mid motor and five levels of power assist. The Trail is for “Fluxing anywhere,” with an image of a rider popping a wheely as proof. No pressure, but seeing the live would make my day. Lastly, the Attack takes riders to the next level of possibilities with its front and rear suspension. Bike perks (not including headlights and various upgrades) range from $1399 to $2699 for two bikes. 25 backers have already claimed all the “Attack Hot Deal” priced at $1949. Features include: Bofeili Mid-Drive Motor, Integrated Lithium Battery, Thumb Throttle, Backlit LCD Display, Hydraulic Disc Brakes and Shimano Gears.
