“Con Man” Stars Alan Tudky & Nathan Fillion: “We Could Do An Actual ‘Spectrum’ Movie”

Con Man 1

Just a little over a year after Con Man became a smashing hit on Indiegogo, Alan Tudyk, and Nathan Fillion revealed they might be looking to get Spectrum, the series’ show within a show, its very own movie.

Con Man 2Last year, Fillion and Tudyk, who worked together on the beloved cult series, FireFly, took to the global crowdfunding portal and captured $3,124,214 for Con Man. The show’s description reads:

Wray Nerely (Tudyk) was a co-star on Spectrum, a sci-fi series which was canceled -Too Soon- yet became a cult classic. Wray’s good friend, Jack Moore (Fillion) starred in the series and has gone on to become a major movie star. While Jack enjoys the life of an A-lister, Wray tours the sci-fi circuit as a guest of conventions, comic book stores, and lots of pop culture events.  The show will feature all the weird and crazy things that happen to Wray along the way to these events.

While chatting with fans at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Fillion stated there might have been discussions about doing a Spectrum film:

“We have been talking about, thinking about, what if, in the future, we could do an actual, real-life Spectrum movie. We’re actually toying with the idea. I don’t know how much of a reality, but we’re throwing the idea around.”

Tudyk chimed in:

“One of the reasons why I wanted to do Con Man, was there is Spectrum, a space show within the show, where I’m flying the spaceship and Nathan is the captain. This idea of us doing it again, it’s something where my character’s still alive.”

Last month, the first season of Con Man became available on Comic-Con HQ. The new platform will also be producing the upcoming second season of the series that will debut website later this year.
