Earlier this month a workshop on crowdfunding was held at the European Commission. Many different crowdfunding leaders participated in this event including executives from Seedrs, Babyloan, Ulule and others. President of the European Crowdfunding Network, Oliver Gajda, was also present participating in a panel on investment crowdfunding.
The included video is a brief update on crowdfunding from a European perspective. It includes brief appearances by Ivan Caballero – who crowdfunded successfully on the Spanish platform Goteo, Alexandre Boucherot from French site Ulule and Oliver Gajda, President of the European Crowdfunding Network, who has become a thought leader on Europe wide crowdfunding. Gajda’s has championed the benefits of crowdfunding using an academic approach and recognition of the importance of this innovation for the overall European economy.
Michel Barnier, European Commissioner for Internal Market and Services, makes an appearance as well where he recognizes the need for a single framework for Europe. Barnier sees crowdfunding playing a growing role in Europe wants to support those who are developing crowdfunding platforms while simultaneously limiting risk.
