“Armello” Video Game Nears $200K Kickstarter Goal

With only a few days left of its Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign,  League of Geeks’ new game “Armello” has almost reached its $200,000. The game takes players into a world of imagination as each play as a “hero” from one of fourt animal clans: rat, rabbit, bear, or wolf.

Each player must navigate their character across a 3D hex tile board as they quest, League of Geeksscheme, explore, vanquish monsters/villains, perform tasks for the Mad King, and even face against other players. The ultimate goal: to storm the palace and become the next king or queen of Armello.

The soundtrack and sound effects of “Armello” are produced and masterd by audio director Jacek Tuschewski, who has worked with well known conductors including Hans Zimmer, Harry Gregson-Williams, Jeff Rona, Klaus Badelt and Zbigniew Presisner on Academy Award-winning films, theatre productions and sound installations.

The game’s features including gorgeous procedurally generated 3D world and fully animated 3D characters; multiple heroes with customizable load-out and skills; over 100 beautifully illustrated and animated cards; designed specifically for digital platforms, with digital-only capabilities and features; dynamic quest system that changes everytime you play; local and online multiplayer; no “class” system, create your own play-style; quest, explore, vanquish, fight, or scheme your way to the throne.

League of GeeksLeague of Geeks is seeking the $200,000 so they may continue to finish the game and have it ready as soon as possible for the beta release. Although it sounds absolutely promising, there are drawl backs to the game. It’s noted on the crowdfunding site, “With a game like ‘Armello,’ you can never know how long the game will have to remain in beta for. Although we can be quick on our feet, good testing and implementation of feedback takes time and the more you rush it, well… the sh*ttier your game will be. For backers, a final release may not be so bad, as a majority of you will be playing the game from beta onwards, but if you’re waiting for the full release there is the chance that due to illusive issue or stubborn design challenges the game may remain in beta for longer than expected.”

The game makers also noted that due to being a new studio, the delay will be greater. “A lot of us have been working together for multiple years, and most of us have spent ten plus years in our respective industries, however… we’re still a new studio making its debut game and working in an unprecedented way. SO make no mistake, there will be bumps along the way. Game development is tough. Always. You have our word though, this game is getting made and it’s going to be incredible. Your patience and understanding through this period is the best support we could ask for from backers.”

So far, “Armello” has $163, 301 with 3,360 backers. The game has 9 days to reach its $200,000 goal.
