Baby Care Brand Izzy Melody Offers Up 20% in Equity During Crowdcube Campaign

Izzy Melody, a Liverpool baby care brand, recently launched a Crowdcube campaign to secure a total of £60,000 with a 20% equity offer. The company is seeking the funds as it prepares to expand.

Izzy Melody 4The company, which was founded by mother-of-two Alissa Koopal, is seeking to develop innovative, practical, cost effective baby products to support parents & baby in the comforter/soothing category. It is also the face behind the widely popular multifunctional baby teething ring, BabyBangle. The ring is currently available in 9 countries and stocked in the UK by retailers such as John Lewis and Mothercare.

“Following the initial launch and having proven the concept and acceptance of the initial products, it is now time to expand both the product range and the sales geography. In order to accomplish this, investment is required to take IM to the next level. This will include tiying up IP’s, premises and staff to fulfill the growing orders and distribution, purchasing in more economical quantities, and also the need for new products to be finalized & launched such as the BabyBoo comforter as well as new colors in the BabyBangle range.”

During a recent interview, Koopal revealed details about why she decided to establish the company:

Izzy Melody 3“I have two gorgeous little girls and when I had my babies I found it difficult to find suitable, quality products to truly support us in our ‘sleep deprived’ but very happy time. It opened my eyes to the overpriced products available in the nursery market, and ended up sitting at the drawing board myself.

 

“After a load of research into materials, children’s development, shapes and manufacturing, processes, I came to design the BabyBangle, as well as products for our collections we aim to launch over the next year.”

Koopal went on to share her thoughts about the Crowdcube initiative:

We have proven the concept that this type of product works in a retail environment and is loved by parents, and now is the time for us to blossom and make the most of this. The ‘soothing’ category is number one on parent’s shopping lists.”

Those that back the campaign will receive various rewards such as discounts, BabyBangles, and BabyBoo. The initiative will close mid-April.
