FilmDoo, an online video-on-demand platform, has recently launched a Seedrs initiative to raise nearly £100,000 to begin expansion. The platform notably focuses on helping film fans to discover and watch great films, short films and other content. FilmDoo also aims to build a global film community and empower users to drive social recommendations and bring films to their regions.

FilmDoo also noted unlike its VOD competitors; it can source films directly from all levels of the film distribution chain. This includes from filmmakers to sales agents/distributors. By doing this, users can discover films that FilmDoo has successfully secured first before any other platform. Since its launch in 2015, FilmDoo has seen month on month growth regularly and exceeding 30% in visitors from 9,000 visitors since last November to 200,000 visitors in July 2016. It also saw over 22,000 visitors returning in July and has more than 1,400 films and short films available in the UK.
Funds from the campaign will be used to launch FilmDoo’s app on Android, iPhone, and Windows smartphones. It will also be contributed towards implementing tech ideas to the website, debut a larger marketing campaign, and expand its B2B partnerships.
Since its launch, the campaign has successfully secured nearly half of its funding goal. It is set to close later this Fall.
