Peak Design Named Second Most Funded Company on Kickstarter After Securing Over $6.3M For Everyday Backpack Collection

Everyday Message 4

Time’s up! Peak Design has officially closed the Kickstarter campaign for its upcoming Everyday Backpack Collection. The startup took to the crowdfunding giant earlier this summer to raise a minimum of $500,000 and crushed the funding goal within just hours of the initiative’s debut.

Everyday Bag 2The  Everyday collect now offers four bags, the Everyday Backpack (features two sizes), the Everyday Tote, and the Everyday Sling. Each of the bags has lightweight, waterproof material and are all custom with a lifetime guarantee. The bags will also feature dedicated carry for laptop/tablet devices and tripods, along with discreet built-in luggage straps. The Everyday Sling is currently available for $125, the Everyday Tote is $155, and the Everyday Backpack is $199. Each bag is available in the colors ash and charcoal.

While revealing details about the line, the company stated:

“Like all Peak Design products, our new bags are packed full of features and meticulously engineered. They are designed from the ground up to be both the best camera bags and the best everyday carry on the planet.”

The campaign drew in so much funding and attention that it became the second most funded company on Kickstarter. During the final hours, the Peak Design team stated:

Everyday Message 3Thank you, thank you, thank you! As of about 11am Pacific Time today, Peak Design is the 2nd most crowdfunded company ever, behind our friends at Pebble. The atmosphere here at the PD Headquarters is electric, and for once it’s not just because of the two buzzing transformers bolted to our walls.”

Peak Design’s Everyday Backpack Collection Campaign was the company’s sixth Kickstarter. It has secured over $13 million from all six of the projects.

Everyday Bag 3“We’re entirely crowdfunded. We’re currently live with our 6th Kickstarter project since 2011. We have no outside investors…no revenue goals…no PowerPoint presentations. That means it’s just us, you, and our brilliantly skilled suppliers. We get to focus on what we love to do: designing beautiful, innovative products for likeminded folks. We think crowdfunding is a better way to bring products to life, for companies, customers, and the world at large.”

Estimated delivery date for the bags is December 2016.
