Cycling Apparel Brand Le Col Hits Crowdcube: Seeks £1M For Expansion

Le Col, a cycling apparel brand that was founded by  Team GB cyclist, Yanto Barker, has launched a campaign on equity crowdfunding platform Crowdcube. The company is seeking £1 million as it prepares to expand.

le-col-3Established in 2009 and manufactured in Italy, Le Col currently sells its products to more than ten countries in the world through a range of specialist retails, which includes Harrods cycling concession. The company purchased its factory in 2014 and became a self-manufacturing business. The products have also been featured in publications such as Esquire Magazine, the Guardian, Huffington Post, The Independent, Cyclist magazine and Road CC. Le Col was also a sponsor for the 2013 Team UK Youth and 2015 One Pro Cycling.

le-col-4The company reports that it is planning to use the campaign’s funds to continue to establish the brand and expand into new geographies. It revealed:

Funds will primarily be used to raise brand awareness via marketing across all channels, fund entry into new markets, and to fund the appointment of the required personnel.”

Since its launch, the Crowdcube initiative has already raised more than £330,000 from close to 20 investors. It is set to close mid-December.
