UK-based The Wild Beer Co. is set to close its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube with more than £1.78 million in funding from nearly 2,000 investors. The brewery launched the initiative last month and quickly raised its initial £1 million funding target.
The Wild Beer Co. was launched in 2012 and has exported to 22 countries and averages annual growth more than 100%. It considers itself one of the UK’s most creative breweries due to the fact that it uses barrel-aged wild fermentation to create complex flavors and pairs the beer with food in a fusion of flavor through its bar and restaurants.
“We have a passion for wild fermentation and barrel [aging] to make beers with complexity and unusual flavour. We have helped create a market within the UK craft beer scene, have become world-renowned for what we do and now export to 22 countries. This isn’t just about beer, it’s about challenging perceptions, creating a movement and battling against a tradition that says only pints are beautiful and quantity is more important than quality.”
During a recent update, the Wild Beer Co. team announced the brewery had a record month in terms of sales, with the £300,000 barrier being broached for the first time:
“This achievement is a huge milestone for the company, and with interest in our beers growing daily and a constant flood of enquiries coming in we feel that our investment in the business in terms of resourcing and staffing is really starting to pay dividends. It also lends weight to our expansion plans and further justifies our rationale behind the new brewery project. So with that, we thank each and every one of our new Wild Tribe. It’s going to be an exciting next few years as we realise our plans and we look forward to sharing many, many more new exciting beers with you.”
The Wild Beer Co. plans to build a new, state of the art brewery; continue to develop its current brewery; and develop its growing bar and restaurant business.
