Homefans Easily Tops Crowdfunding Goal on Crowdcube

Homefans has closed its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube having raised £111,590 in 30 days. The company had a pre-money valuation of £589,000. According to the campaign page, 165 investors backed the young company.

The startup  decided to launch an equity offer after taking more than 250 travellers to 6 different countries across Europe in 10 months. The concept is to organize group trips to high profile football games in handpicked destinations and to provide unique experiences beyond just the game. Co-Founders Luke Verbeek and Daniel Velásquez believe that nowadays, football fans, especially millennials, are seeking for something beyond a ticket and a hotel night. They want to collect experiences along the way. Travelers meet locals, go to pub nights and even play football at the club’s official training pitch.

“We’re not a standard football package provider, we put a lot of effort on creating unique experiences and bring like-minded fans together to experience football the local way,” explains Verbeek.

Homefans says it is already collaborating directly with professional football clubs, and aims to change the way fans experience football in the UK and Europe.

Having closed the funding round, Homefans now plans to increase marketing, launch new products, onboard new team members and expand to other geographies.

“We devised a very detailed growth plan and will surely follow it with the added value of new Directors on board and new commercial opportunities,” says Velásquez.

Homefans states they are in talks for new partnerships with travel operators across Europe and are looking for new source markets in Asia and Latin America. The expect to soon unveil new destinations and even the World Cup Russia 2018 as a possibility for Homefans.
