Spanish Cash Back Platform Shoppiday Now Seeking £450,000 Through Crowdcube Funding Round

Shoppiday, a Spain-based cash back platform, is now seeking 450,000 through its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube. Founded in 2016 and launched last year, Shoppiday currently offers a selection of more than 400 online storms of top brands, which includes Nike, Zealand, Booking, Pull&Bear, and Amazon.

“The process is simple: to shop online, go to Shoppiday, click on the brand of your choice and go to its website to buy the item you want. With the browser extension, you can activate your cash back without going first to our site. To shop at local stores, choose the store and pay with the app. In both cases, you earn cash that can be transferred to your bank account or used to do further payments in the app.”

Shoppiday noted that it believes many consumers are exhausted of push emails with discounts on specific items and closed loyalty programs. Its platform changes this by offering freedom (all the products at hundreds of stores) and cash (no points, real money), having the same experience as going directly to the store.

The company also reported inn the first year it reached more than £1 million in gross merchandise value, 20,000 transactions, 18,000 registered users and has partnered with 650 online stores and 900 local merchants (restaurants and beauty salons) in the main cities of Spain.

All funds from the Crowdcube round will be used to continue the Shoppiday’s platform expansion. Since its launch, the funding round has attracted more than £325,000 from over 30 investors. It is currently set to close at the end of April.
