Overfunding: Fertility Data Drive App WOOM Surpasses £300,000 Funding Target on Crowdcube

WOOM, a Spanish startup that has created an app specifically to help women to get pregnant, has successfully secured its initial £300,000 funding target from more than 50 investors through its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube. The funding round was launched last month, but the company reported that took the opportunity to spend some time completing conversations with key people from its own profession who were interested in becoming investors before continuing its funding round.

Founded in 2015, WOOM is described as a data model driven startup to empower women to maximize chances of pregnancy either natural or through medical treatment.

Through an algorithm, WOOM identify fertile window and calculates daily percentage of pregnancy based on data such: period regularity, age, IMC (weight/height), smoking & lifestyle habits and it also delivers personalized content. Also, users receive support through an engaged community and a platform of fertility services. WOOM born through personal experiences of their founders when becoming pregnant. Having kids is for many one of their utmost desire and we believe having kids should be easier. Both, professionals in Technology and convinced on how the technology positively impacts in people lifestyle, decided build a digital platform robust and helpful that could help miles of people.”

Since launching, WOOM reported it now has more than 400,000 users who have achieved 50,000 pregnancies with the help of the mobile app. The company noted it is medically endorsed and built to scale internationally. “

Funds from the Crowdcube round will be used to continue growth and expansion of the WOOM’s app. The campaign is now set to close at the end of June.
