Revolut Teams Up With Two-Time World Heavyweight Champ Anthony Joshua to Raise Funds For UK Gyms & Launch Glow-in-the-Dark Debit Card

Digital bank Revolut announced on Tuesday it has teamed up with two-time heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, to raise funds for independent gyms throughout the UK, as well as co-brand glow-in-the-dark debit card. According to Revolut, gyms and leisure centers were not included in the UK Government’s Sport Winter Survival Package, which was announced late last year, and sports charity ukactive has estimated that 400 facilities have closed permanently since the beginning of the pandemic and another 2,400 gyms are at risk.

To raise the funds that independent gyms need, Revolut and Joshua have teamed up for the new debit card. For every limited-edition Anthony Joshua card ordered by a UK customer, Revolut will notably donate £1 to struggling independent boxing gyms across the UK (with Revolut committing a minimum of £50,000 in total). Revolut noted that the donation will be made to gyms that are members of Boxing England and Scotland Boxing. The gym that refers the most will also receive an additional £10,000.

“The exclusive card has a smooth minimalist design and includes Anthony Joshua’s motto, 258, which reflects the boxer’s dedication to his sport and his commitment to work beyond 24/7. The card is black and white during the daylight and transforms to a striking green and black in the dark.”

Revolut also stated that the limited edition card is available to all of its 15 million customers around the world. To get the Anthony Joshua card and help raise funds for local gyms, customers just need to download the latest version of the Revolut app on iOS or Android and order the card from the cards section within the app.
