Revolut, a digital bank/neobank with over 35 million customers worldwide and 8+ million in the United Kingdom, is offering eSIMs and global mobile data plans to its UK clients.
Revolut eSIM enables clients to roam like a local user and stay connected without having to deal with unexpected roaming charges and various other types of interruptions.
Available to UK clients this coming week, Revolut customers on eSIM-compatible devices can gain access to the eSIM, regardless of their plan.
After it is installed, clients may top up data wherever they might choose to go – without a physical SIM.
Connecting the eSIM allows people to use the Revolut app without using up their mobile data allowance. For example, if a Revolut client lands in a country and does not have data access, they can access their Revolut app and use the products and features, including topping up their data.
With the eSIM installed through the Revolut app, Ultra customers will be able to access a benefit as part of their plan – 3GB of mobile data to use internationally, with a rolling refresh each month.
UK customers who install their eSIM by 1 May 2024 will also be able to benefit from an introductory offer of 100MB of international data at no extra cost (terms and conditions may apply).
The cost of using mobile data internationally has increased recently. Most UK mobile networks do not permit users to “roam like at home” in the European Union and data charges for the rest of the jurisdictions are nearly always outside the standard benefits.
