Smartwatch Hits Goal in 30 Hours, HOT Watch Surges Past $150K Goal

HOT watchHOT smartwatch adds itself to the growing list of successfully crowdfunded smartwatches. Beats goal in first 30 hours.

More validation of the pent up demand for wearable tech in the form of a “smartwatch”,  Hot Watch easily surpassed their initial crowdfunding goal of $150,000 in their first 30 hours of crowdfunding on Kickstarter.  The most recent competitor for Pebble smartwatch – and others – has added Dick Tracya unique feature which allows users to make and receive calls by simply raising the watch to the wearer’s ear.  HOT – which stands for “Hands On Talk” has incorporated  Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to create this Dick Tracy like functionality.  The watch integrates seamlessly with both iOS and Android devices.  It will also pair with other smartphone platforms but without the complete feature set.

“We are excited about reaching our initial Kickstarter goal,” states PH Technical Labs Hot Watch DimensionsPresident Shariq Hamid, “but we are even more excited about seeing our vision come to life and what’s in store for the future of HOT Watch.”

Over 1200 backers have funded the HOT watch crowdfunding campaign to date with rewards levels starting at $109.00 with supporters receiving the first batch of smartwatches at this level. 300 were available at this level and they quickly sold out.  The watches are currently scheduled to ship in December 2013.

With 35 days left in the crowdfunding campaign and contributions continuing at a robust rate expectations are for stretch goals to be released to maintain momentum and encourage social sharing.

HOT watch was created by PH Technical Labs based in Dallas, Texas.
