Amano Raises Equity For 2000 Year Old Tongue Cleanser Design

Amano Tongue CleanserBased on a Roman design from AD 100, this “tongue cleanser” was originally sold 20 years ago when it captured some success while retailing at Harrods.  Now Amano is re-launching this oral hygiene device and they are raising equity on Seedrs.

The company hopes to raise £100,000 in capital representing 20% equity in the startup company.  The steel tongue cleanser is targeting a niche in the $30 billion global oral care market with their stylish devices.

Mano Manoharan, Managing Director of A Mano Products, believes that tongue cleaning still remains a neglected part of our oral hygiene culture.

“With clearly identified medical benefits, the time is right for a well-designed, attractive and effective product to shift consumers’ attitudes – and oral debris off the tongue”.

Mano Manoharan added; “Out target is to re-popularise tongue cleaning and make it as acceptable a daily routine as flossing currently is now. Our durable, stylish and branded range of tongue cleansers will, we hope, become style accessories, in time”.

SeedrsMano recently published an article on the benefits of crowdfunding – Seedrs specifically –  recognizing the potential of raising funds in this fashion.  The combination of investors being able to invest  as little as £10 after registering on the platform while benefitting from the SEIS tax breaks for UK taxpayers is compelling.

Two weeks into their 90-day crowdfunding campaign and over 20% of the £100,000 target has been already reached – which bodes well for the success of their fundraising.
