Watsi, CrowdTilt Also Up for Awards along with Oculus VR.
Rewards based crowdfunding platform Kickstarter is up for the Best Overall Startup of 2013 Crunchie Award. This is the 7th Annual event which is put together by TechCrunch along with partners GigaOm and VentureBeat. One of five, Kickstarter is competing with heavyweights CloudFlare, Snapchat, Twitter and Uber for the top award.
Kickstarter is not the only member of the crowdfunding world making the Crunchies list. CrowdTilt and Watsi are competing for the Biggest Social Impact Award.
Another entry on the elite list is Oculus VR which crowdfunded on Kickstarter raising over $2.4 million and went on to raise much larger sums from hordes of Venture Capitalists. Voting is ongoing and of course everyone is encouraged to vote. Once per day please. Voting will close on Sunday, January 26th.
