Crowdcube Shares 2013 Recap of a Successful Year

Crowdcube 2013Crowdcube has published their year in crowdfunding for 2013 and they have taken some cues from rewards based platform Kickstarter in their presentation.

Sharing some stats and highlights for the past twelve months Crowdcube has created a visual scrapbook highlighting campaigns and communicating some of their numbers.  We have already reported that Crowdcube, the leading equity crowdfunding platform, grew over 500% and raised around £12.2 Million for the year – but here are some additional numbers:

  • Largest Campaign on the site – Hab Housing Raising £1.9 Million
  • Largest Single Investment £250,000
  • Average amount raised for a company was £226,163
  • £2,687 is the average amount invested per investor
  • £2,355 was invested every hour in 2013 or,
  • £39 every minute
  • 25% of investors are female vs. 3$% of traditional Angels
  • 16 People invested on Christmas Day
  • 27,351 new investors joined Crowdcube
  • New job creation?  Yep – an estimated 1,072 will be created over 3 years by funded companies
  • Total investments through Crowdcube stands at £20,574,685
  • 10 business did a 2nd Crowdfunding round on their platform
