Bike HUDUK based equity crowdfunding platform Seedrs allowed 156 investors to  join together to facilitate a new motorcycle heads-up display called Bike HUD.  The product will soon be delivered to customers around the world aided by the additional funding.   Bike Systems, achieve its £90,000 development cost target via crowdfunding this past week. The popularity of the Bike HUD campaign has led to a second funding round, which is already oversubscribed.

Bike Systems’ CEO, Dave Vout stated;

“This funding will help us add exciting new features to the Bike HUD and ensure that we will have a mature and well supported product if and when competition does enter the market. It also offers us the opportunity to enter new and different types of markets with the Bike HUD technology.”

Launching at November 2013’s Motorcycle Live show at the National Exhibition Centre, Bike HUD has been designed to be fitted to any motorcycle, from modern sport bikes to 1960’s classics, and alerts the rider to special conditions using numbers and graphics visible on the in-built screen. Bike HUD also includes custom display modes for track day racing, commuting and touring.

Bike HUDBike HUD is based upon an expandable core system and the money raised will be used to develop enhancements, develop accessory products and drive sales into the market place. For example, Satellite Navigation and Safety Camera Location Alerts will be incorporated in time for the start of the new riding season.

Bike HUD is available worldwide and when it ships at the start of February 2014 it will be the only dedicated heads up display available for motorcyclists anywhere in the world. Pricing is £347 in the UK and US$397 for customers outside the EU.
