Devon HarrisThe crowdfunding campaign to fund the Jamaican bobsled team so they can make it to the Winter Olympics in Sochi has now become the official olympic campaign.  The project on CrowdTilt has a new administrator – Devon Harris who represents the bobsled team.

In a campaign update the shift was explained:

This campaign is now confirmed as the official fundraiser for the Jamaican Bobsled team!!! After the initial momentum, the team’s president Chris Stokes and founding member of the original “Cool Runnings” team Devon Harris reached out to the campaign’s creator Lincoln. To give the campaign credibility and take this fundraiser to the next level, the Bobsled team (represented by Devon Harris) will now be the public face of the fundraiser. The campaign was initially created by everyday Winter Olympics fan Lincoln Wheeler, who has been shocked by the public outpouring of support.

Jamaica BobsledThe campaign which will only last for 8 more days, jumped over $20,000 since yesterday evening.  The recent total was posted as $37,631.00.  Over 1100 contributors have already backed this fascinating and inspiring initiative to see Jamaica represented in Sochi.  The campaign on Indiegogo has also taken a leap and now stands at over $22,000.
