UK based equity crowdfunding innovator Seedrs is up for another award. The European Tech Startup Awards 2014 have included Seedrs on their shortlist of potential winners. The Europas are described as the “premier awards for Europe’s hottest tech startups”. The event focuses on new companies but also incorporates mid and later stage startups as well. The awards are designed to celebrate the most forward thinking, innovative and progressive companies in Europe. The main event is scheduled to be held this coming June 10th in London.
The Europas was founded by Mike Butcher. He holds the “day job” of Editor at Large of TechCrunch. Butcher has corralled a group of judges to aid in the selection process. The shortlist is selected but the judges – followed by peer voting with a final selection completed by event judges.
Seedrs is in competition for the Best Sharing / Crowdsourcing Economy Startup. The other companies on the shortlist include: Bizzby BlaBlaCar, BorrowMyDoggy, HouseTrip and Love Home Swap . Seedrs “graduate” Future Ad Labs is also on the roster to potentially win an award.
Seedrs was on the list of winners for 2013 under the category of “Best Commerce, Finance or Payments Startup”.
