Pozible just celebrated their 4th birthday and their best gift was the fact they have now surpassed $20 million (USD) in pledges. The crowdfunding platform based in Australia has tallied more than 6100 projects since they entered the crowdfunding world way back in 2o1o. During the past four years they have expanded into the United States and parts of Asia as they bring the Aussie approach to raising funds for cool projects.
By their very own numbers the top categories are:
Film – received US $5 million in pledges
Music – US $3.7 million
Performance – US $2 million
Community – US $1.6 million
Art – US $1.3 million
Believe it or not technology is in 6th place but expect that category to move up the list with their recent expansion into China. There are also rumblings they may move into the equity crowdfunding space – just as soon as the Australian government tweaks their rules a bit.
